American Airlines partnered with Sector 5 Digital to skillfully revamp their International Arrivals video, which plays on every international flight touching down in the United States.

Challenge

  • American Airlines (AA) set out on a mission to improve the international arrivals process, aiming to make it more user-friendly and alleviate the confusion that often accompanies deplaning in the US.
  • The deplaning process can be complex and stressful for passengers, so the main goal of the video was to provide a clear and concise outline of the procedure. 

Solution

  • In collaboration with American Airlines and the United States Customs and Border Patrol, Sector 5 Digital (S5D) developed short, animated video detailing the arrival experience for customers arriving into the U.S. on international flights. Harnessing our studio’s profound expertise in 3D design and modeling, our team crafted a captivating, stylized world that served as the immersive backdrop for the video. 

  • To make the video both educational and entertaining, S5D also designed AA “Brand Characters” that were used to help explain the process to customers.

  • The characters navigate through the entire arrivals process, from checking in at the airport to clearing customs and immigration. This helps passengers understand what to expect once deboarding the plane, so that they may have a smooth and stress-free travel experience. 

Results

  • Since its launch the video has become an integral part of all American Airlines international flights arriving in the United States. 
  • Further, the character and world designs created by Sector 5 Digital are already planned to be used for future projects.
